Hide Away

written by Freddie King and Sonny Thompson

Freddie King (September 3, 1934 – December 28, 1976) was an American blues guitarist, singer and songwriter.

Mostly known for his soulful and powerful voice and distinctive guitar playing, King had a major influence on electric blues music and on many later blues guitarists.

His instrumental "Hide Away" reached number five on the Billboard rhythm and blues chart in 1961. It later became a blues standard.

King was inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame in 1982 and into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012.

He was ranked 19th in Rolling Stone's 2023 edition of 250 greatest guitarists of all time.
